Magnum® is a purple, water-based, insect growth regulator pour-on for the control of fly and lice in sheep. Magnum has a nil meat withholding so is ideal for fly control in lambs close to finishing.

Administration method
Apply the recommended dose as shown above using a T-Bar gun. Magnum is rain fast. Trials have shown that 25mL of rain before and after application does not affect efficacy.
For lice control it is best practice to apply Magnum off-shears (within 24 hours after shearing). Can be used on strong wool type breeds with up to 3 months wool growth; must be used off-shears on fine-wool breeds.
For fly control ensure sufficient product is applied to cover the area to be protected. Existing blowfly strike at the time of application, or after the period of protection, must be treated with a conventional blowfly dressing. Product must be applied in a wide continuous strip.

FAQ Fly and Lice
Short wool vs long wool?
When it comes to long woolled sheep, it can be difficult to control lice. Pour-ons for lice e.g., Wipeout, Magnum and Vanquish; achieve best results when applied to the fleece within 24 hours after shearing.
Effects of Flystrike
Flystrike occurs when blowflies lay eggs in warm, moist areas on a sheep and these eggs hatch into maggots, which then invade the living sheep.
